Ballum

In the leafy heart of the village, trendy and traditional go hand in hand effortlessly. Guests sip a carefree Nobeltje (Ameland's 'house drink'), wander through a museum full of nostalgia or enjoy active sports. A sightseeing flight, parasailing and gliding. It's all possible!

Ballum has the smallest population of Ameland. It has a small airport in the western part of the village. Ameland Airport was constructed in 1945 in consultation with the Ministry of Defence. The single grass runway of 850 x 30 metres is used for landing and take-off by both business and recreational air traffic. For the real daredevil, parachute flights, sightseeing flights and glider flights can be booked here.
